Soon after spotting the "ice blue" one-pickup Bullet Special, I snatched this up. A more standard config, but I was intrigued because dark blue is NOT a common Fender color.
Some recent random HT appearances on Reverb. Here's a silvery 2002. with the "20th Anniversary" plate that drives "collectors" wild. And while I haven't taken my Bullet apart yet... I'd have thought they'd just do whatever rout the factory had as standard -- sss, hss, bathtub. No, the HT had its own lathe! Seller calls this one a "rare limited edition 2004 release" named in ad copy as "the Squier Bullet Special" -- because (predictably) he's asking $300+. No skunk-stripe, so sure enough it's a Samick 2004 (my new toy being '04 Cort).
Dark-blue s-s-s, stripe -- yep, Cort '03. (Would it have killed the seller to take a damp rag after it??) Not a Bullet, light blue, "custom" pickguard, and seller is apparently 2'6" tall because ALL photos are at this angle -- including SIX ( ) of the fretboard. Stripe, flatback cast tuners, Cort Indonesia... but odd s/n: "ICSG20x" (final digit obscured); seller says original purchase was 09/20, so I suspect the "G" coded July. A 2001 s-s-s Samick, no stripe.
Though there's not much of a following, Fender HT Strats refuse to die out completely. Here a 2020 MIM Robert Cray Signature. And for good measure, a Nile Rogers "The Hitmaker" signature from 2022 (U.S.).

This new HT looks quite spiffy in white-on-white. Though listed on Reverb as a Bullet, there's no use of that name. Also note that it is not demeaned as a "Strat" but is a full-on Stratocaster. The included ad-copy quote says the body is "thin and lightweight" but makes no mention of the material employed.

I'm bemused that these two popped up simultaneously (from the Goodwill of North Georgia). They're very similar, but not identical. Both are classic config and quite standard (aside from the hardtail): s-s-s, white knobs and pickup covers, white-black-white pickplate, diamond-can tuners, dark-blue finish, Indonesia build, 2004. First the Samick. The script "Fender" logo doesn't appear. No neck strip. Thin "Bullet" font. And the Cort. Neck strip. Heavy fonts on face decal.
