Yah, that's actually my name IRL. As a kid (early '70s), I wanted to be a drummer. Soon enough, I figured out that drums were bulky and expensive, and people are intolerant of practice. That's when I spent $2 on a "Beginning Guitar" book, $3 on strings for my brother's neglected Sears crapbox acoustic -- unplayable above fret 5 -- and started learning chords. Over the years, I've played in rock bands, had a few brushes with success, and am mostly a dedicated hobbyist, doing some random local gigs as a bassist and rhythm guitarist. I have a collection of about 65 guitars, basses, and mandolins, plus a couple dozen amps (mostly small combos). In recent years, I've learned a lot about various brands, most of them inexpensive. These include Washburn, Aslin Dane, Austin, Univox, Danelectro, Canvas, Johnson, AXL, Xavier, Kona, Cort, First Act, and Framus. I do repairs and upgrades, buying and selling a few here and there. Music brings people together. For me, that is the best part.
