A mad moment when the JT brand took a few giddy steps away from the "let's produce an endless stream of Funder & Gobson clones that look just like what everyone else is doing" industry standard. I should have bought one the moment I saw it online -- Note all the standout features: - "SG" body, set neck, NOT a wrap-around bridge
- ...but with a strange (possibly unique) offset
- "offside" yellow-to-red-to-black sunburst
- somewhat flamed top
- abalone dots
- gold hardware
- ...the absolute GENIUS part, though, is an actual authentic branded Burns vibrato!! I've seen like ONE of these IRL in 40+ years of haunting guitar shops -- one of the few direct challenges to the Bigsby
Used, these have been going past in the $300 range. Really, that would be almost reasonable if you were only going to hang it over the fireplace -- it looks darned sharp. So if it's at least moderately playable, $300 is decent. ADDED BONUS: that Burns will go a long way to offset the SG's tendency toward head-dive.
