The Reverb seller claims he has a Washburn SI-61, a Scott Ian (Anthrax) signature model -- and displays this -- You should see the first big red flag: where's the set neck? Then the seller offers some confirmation for his case -- Okay, sure: gloss-black paint, carved SG-style top... oh, hmm, hang on... The Blue Book says "similar to the SI60 Murder Weapon, except has Obey graphics" and the SI60 has a carved top, so... To be fair, it does appear to be properly branded as an SI61. Nevertheless, it's two (maybe three) steps down from what the catalogue claims (neck joint, paint, top carve). As a final icepick, the 2007 price list (also cited by seller) indicates that the SI61 did not have the Buzz Feiten Tuning System... while the axe he's selling clearly does have the decal (back of headstock). The seller is in Russia. Washburn often created variants and unique models just for its Russia market. And, as well, there have been fakes of higher-end Washburns from Russia, such as the EC series -- who knew Washburn would ever be worth counterfeiting? -- so I wouldn't be shocked. Anyway, I don't blame the seller... but "let the buyer beware" holds true: if you bought this, and it arrived in okay shape, you'd really have no footing to return it.
